STEVE SHAFFER

Steve Shaffer, born and raised in South Philadelphia and during his developing youthful years was given a Catholic education.  These two events did help him in his decision to become a comedian.


Starting his comedy profession in l983, within one year made his first of many appearances on “THE TONIGHT SHOW” with Johnny Carson.

 

As a comic/actor he became the “JEOPARDY COACH” and for over a year appeared in all television ads promoting the game show “JEOPARDY”.  Additionally he appeared in television commercials for Bell Telephone, Miller Lite, I.B.M., and Burger King.  During his two appearances on “THE MURPHY BROWN SHOW,” Steve played the no-sense bartender, who enjoyed kicking Murphy out of the “MEN’S CLUB”.

 

In l994 Steve Shaffer wrote for the Showtime program “FULL FRONTAL COMEDY” which received a CABLE ACE AWARD for best variety show on cable.

 

Steve’s greatest love is stand-up comedy and has headlined comedy clubs from coast to coast, and is always in demand for return engagements.  In addition to hundreds of colleges and corporate events he has appeared with such notables as GEORGE CARLIN, PAUL ANKA, THE BEACHBOYS and many others.
